Windarti, Dressmaker

Windarti, 34 year old, is a member of "Arwana" Trust Bank Group. She is now in her third period loan of USD 333. She buys materials in Tanah Abang Market. Her customers are factory workers. She learns how to sew from her husband. Her husband is also has his own tailor business. Windarti started her business with USD 22 from her husband.

 After joining DIMAN, she is able to raise her weekly net profit USD10 to USD20. She used her loan to buy thread, yarn, buy another new sewing machine and buy hemming machine. She will use her next loan to buy new materials for making t’shirt and to buy one more new sewing machine. She will recruit one more employee.

Windarti is a senior high graduate same as her husband. She has 2 children, Erwin (11 year old) and Anissa (2 year old). Windarti and family have been living in a simple rented house for 6 years. She pays USD 25 per month for the house rent. 


Dian Mandiri (Diman) Foundation, works together with the Besom UK with the Project of “ Small Scale and Grass Root Business Development in Greater Jakarta”, provide Mrs. Windarti with a new sewing machine, delivered to Windarti’s house.
